Tracking Levels   Prev Next
Using WorkTime you can track at your own choice applications and documents usage, how work on projects is performed, how workstations are used and more. WorkTime Tracking Levels feature allows you to choose depending on your needs what data should be tracked.


To select levels of tracking, open WorkTime Options window and go to Settings|Tracking|Advanced Tracking options group (See Options - Tracking).


Tracking Levels
Level 1: projects, activities, users, workstations usage including start/finish times
Level 2: Level 1 and applications, documents usage
Level 3: Level 2 and applications, documents start/finish times

Usage means the total time spent in projects, activities, documents etc.
E.g. yesterday Bob was working with Excel for 2 hours
.

Start/Finish times means times when work is started and when - finished
E.g. Bob was working with Excel 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM and then 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM


Level 1

Level 1 tracks projects, activities, users, workstations usage including start/finish times.
Level 1 does not track applications and documents.

Example:
User name Project name Start time Finish time Total usage time
Bob S. Development 11:00 AM 12:30 PM 1 hour 30 minutes
Linda J. Documentation 13:30 PM 15:05 PM 1 hour 35 minutes
James H. Support 15:25 PM 18:17 PM 2 hours 52 minutes



Level 2

Level 2 tracks projects, activities, users, workstations usage including start/finish times and applications, documents usage.
Level 2 tracks the same data as Level 1 and also applications, documents usage.
Level 2 does not track applications, documents/start finish times.

Example:
User name Project name Application Document Start time Finish time Total usage time
Bob S. Development     11:00 AM 12:30 PM 1 hour 30 minutes
    Notepad log.txt     20 minutes
    Notepad cmd.bat     40 minutes
    Excel chart.xls     5 minutes
    Excel db_report.xls     25 minutes



Level 3

Level 3 tracks projects, activities, users, workstations, applications, documents usage including start/finish times.
Level 3 tracks the same data as Level 2 and also applications, documents start/finish times.

Example:
User name Project name Application Document Start time Finish time Total usage time
Bob S. Development     11:00 AM 12:30 PM 1 hour 30 minutes
    Notepad log.txt 11:00 AM 11:20 AM 20 minutes
    Notepad cmd.bat 11:20 AM 12:00 PM 40 minutes
    Excel chart.xls 12:00 PM 12:15 PM 5 minutes
    Excel db_report.xls 12:15 PM 12:30 PM 25 minutes
