Database options include path to the database, database maintenance functionality, offline/online mode functionality and database version and connection information.

To access Database options, open Options window and select Settings|Database (See Main Window, Main Menu, Options).

Database Path

Database Path - path to the WorkTime database.
It can be path to a local database (Ex. C:\WorkTime4\BD\WT4.GDB) or to a remote database (Ex. Home1:P:\WorkTime4\BD\WT4.GDB, where Home1 is a server computer name or IP address and C:\WorkTime4\BD\WT4.GDB is a local path on the server - Important: it must be a local path at the server, but not a shared or a network path) (See WorkTime Terminology - Database, Network Support).

Change Database...
- click this button to change database path.
Clicking this button brings up a Database Server and Path window.
If you want to define a local database path, select Local radio-button and then select local Database Path.
To define a remote database pats, select Remote radio-button and enter Server name or IP address (Ex. Home1) in the field near the Remote radio-button; after this enter path to the database (Ex. C:\WorkTime4\BD\WT4.GDB) in the Database Path field (it must be a local path at the server).
When database server and path are defined, click OK to save changes.
Changing database requires closing Options window, so you'll be asked a question if you want to close Options window and save changes. Choosing Yes will save changes and Options window will be closed, choosing No will discard changes made to the database path and Options window will stay opened.
